BraunAbility manufactures many options of wheelchair-accessible vehicles, including side- and rear-entry, standard height and extra tall, foldout and in-floor ramps, and manual and power ramps.

If you need an accessible vehicle but don’t like the idea of driving a minivan, the BraunAbility Chevrolet Traverse is a great alternative. It’s stylish, spacious, and has plenty of swagger. Here’s are some of the frequently asked questions about the wheelchair SUV.

If your need for a wheelchair accessible vehicle is temporary, leasing may be a better alternative than purchasing. We’ve got your answers to the most common questions about leasing a wheelchair van

There’s a lot to consider when it comes to whether it makes more sense to purchase or lease a wheelchair-accessible vehicle. Here’s what you need to know before you make a decision.

While a manual rear entry ramp will require bending to lower and raise the ramp it is spring assisted on both sides making it very user-friendly, lightweight, and easy to use.

The answer is both vehicles have different options for securement. While both vehicles can use standard self-locking tie-downs, optional electronic retractors can make securing the wheelchair in a rear-entry vehicle simple and safe.

While the rear bench seat is removed in the conversion, 2 mid row flip seats are added to allow for transportation for up to 4 passengers plus 1 wheelchair. A rear 2 person flip seat can also be installed as an option which can allow transportation for up to 6 passengers in total

Some of the advantages of a rear-entry accessible minivan include:

  • wider ramp and channel to support wider wheelchairs
  • no turning necessary in entering the vehicle
    typically the most cost-effective/inexpensive
  • lowered floor conversion option
  • no restriction entering/exiting the vehicle with another vehicle parked beside you
